Company Members

The members Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre (CYBT) are comprised of a select number of students from Coastal Dance Centre’s (CYBT’s official training school) Conservatory Program, who demonstrate potential, are highly dedicated and are seriously committed. As company members, these young people have access to high caliber ballet training and performance opportunities through professionally-staged productions and educational initiatives.

The potential for a major dance career is in the offing for company members who may eventually be interested in such. Company members learn skills including how to work towards a goal and time management. They also develop a better appreciation of the (classical) music they dance to. They learn how to stay fit, practice for incredibly long hours and even maintain good academic grades. These young people have a different kind of work ethic, they love to dance and they dance with unbelievable passion!

For some who have gone through the Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre’s company program, the reward justifies the sacrifices they have made. If, and when, the magic comes together, and blessed with the physical aesthetics, added to luck and talent, some of these fine young dancers in the older batches have put their training and experience as tools to go on to professional careers or even get scholarships when applying for college. The present crop of young dancers in the company aspires to follow in the footsteps of the older ones who are now pursuing their dreams.
