Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre proudly presents
The Nutcracker
Over the years, CYBT’s production of The Nutcracker has entertained thousands and thousands of children and grown-ups. There are so many reasons to come see The Nutcracker: the beautiful dancing, the colorful costumes, the lavish sets, the growing Christmas tree, the dancing mechanical dolls, and Mother Ginger!
The libretto is adapted from E.T. A. Hoffmann’s classic story of The Nutcracker and the Mouse King. The iconic music is by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, with choreography and staging by CYBT Artistic Directors Liza Mata and Karen Mata after that of Marius Petipa’s and Lev Ivanov’s ballet.
All performances are brought to life by a cast of seventy talented young artists, which includes the Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre company members, together with students from Coastal Dance Centre, CYBT’s training school, and volunteer community members.
Experience the magic first hand as you are transported to an exciting adventure through dance!

Infuse Arts into Education
Each year, our field trips introduce hundreds of school children to the artistry and athleticism of live performance. These field trip performances give area school children valuable exposure to the arts and with that we aim to enhance the creative thinking process within their academics. The CYBT Field Trip Matinee Performance is designed with students in mind. Please note that for the enjoyment of all our guests, we recommend that attendees be at least four years and older.
The performance will run for approximately two hours. Reservations should be made with Sandra Hucks, CYBT Student Matinee Coordinator. For more information, please email us at info@CYBT.org or call us at 843.839. 5678 or 843.651.2006.
